Key Roles & Responsibilities
The Associate MQA Downstream will act as a critical link between manufacturing and quality, ensuring that all downstream processes comply with regulatory and internal quality standards. Associate MQA Downstream Job at Pfizer
Major responsibilities include:
- Acting as the first point of quality contact on the shop floor during downstream manufacturing activities
- Ensuring continuous compliance with cGMP requirements in Terminal Sterilization, Visual Inspection, and Packaging areas
- Monitoring manufacturing processes to confirm adherence to approved procedures and Pfizer quality systems
- Reviewing electronic batch records (eBR) and evaluating deviations, alarms, and exceptions with technical guidance from senior team members
- Performing detailed batch documentation review, including equipment audit trails
- Conducting Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) sampling and inspection during visual inspection processes
- Supporting batch start-up and batch closure activities, including sensor challenge tests and recipe verification
- Performing routine and random process checks to ensure operational consistency and product quality
- Carrying out daily GMP walkthroughs and reporting observations to senior quality leadership
- Assessing equipment breakdowns from a product quality and patient safety perspective
- Reviewing equipment alarms and participating in periodic alarm trend analysis
- Escalating quality deviations, non-conformances, or compliance risks in a timely manner
- Assisting in troubleshooting manufacturing issues to minimize quality impact and downtime
- Identifying process gaps and participating in simplification initiatives to improve efficiency and compliance

Eligibility Criteria
Education
- M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics / Quality Assurance / Industrial Pharmacy or related discipline)
- M.Sc (Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or related life sciences)
Degrees must be obtained from recognized institutions.
Experience
- Minimum 1+ year of relevant experience in:
- Manufacturing Quality Assurance
- Quality Assurance
- Pharmaceutical Production
- Experience must be within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
Skills Required
- Strong understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and GxP principles
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical quality systems and regulatory expectations
