Key Roles & Responsibilities

The Pharmacist will perform various operational and documentation tasks related to clinical trial supply management.

Clinical Trial Supply Planning

  • Prepare protocol-specific pharmacy plans for clinical studies.
  • Develop secondary labeling plans for investigational medicinal products and clinical supplies.

Investigational Product Management

  • Receive, verify, and store investigational medicinal products (IMP) and non-clinical supplies according to protocol requirements.
  • Maintain proper storage conditions in the clinical supply unit.

Labeling and Packaging

  • Prepare documentation related to labeling and relabeling activities.
  • Perform expiry extension labeling and secondary labeling as per approved plans.

Clinical Trial Supply Distribution

  • Coordinate supply and resupply of investigational products to clinical trial sites.
  • Ensure temperature-controlled transportation when required.

Shipment & Documentation

  • Prepare shipment documentation for investigational product distribution.
  • Plan and manage supply distribution to investigational sites.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain inventory of investigational medicinal products and clinical supplies.
  • Ensure proper documentation throughout the clinical trial lifecycle.

Product Return and Reconciliation

  • Arrange product return or recall from clinical trial sites when required.
  • Perform reconciliation of investigational medicinal products and related supplies.

Destruction and Compliance

  • Witness destruction of unused investigational products as per approved procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and company procedures.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure clinical supply management activities comply with ICH-GCP guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow all internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Equipment and Instrumentation

  • Ensure periodic maintenance and calibration of clinical supply unit equipment.
