The selected candidate will be involved in evaluating the safety of ingredients and finished consumer products, especially in skin health and personal care categories.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
The Scientist will be responsible for ensuring product safety through scientific evaluation and data analysis. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting literature searches and collecting safety data from preclinical and clinical sources
- Performing hazard assessment of ingredients used in consumer healthcare and cosmetic products
- Evaluating fragrances and flavor components for safety compliance
- Carrying out toxicological risk assessments, including margin of safety calculations
- Assessing skin tolerance of formulations using scientific data
- Reviewing clinical safety studies such as patch tests, irritation, sensitization, and phototoxicity studies
- Supporting product evaluation at different stages of the development lifecycle
- Assessing OTC products and impurity qualification as per regulatory standards
- Preparing technical documentation and safety reports for regulatory submissions
- Coordinating and monitoring studies conducted at CROs
This role is non-laboratory based and focuses primarily on data analysis, scientific evaluation, and documentation.
Eligibility Criteria
Education
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or related scientific discipline
- Additional diploma in Toxicology or Clinical Sciences is preferred
Experience
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in toxicology, clinical safety, or consumer product risk assessment
- Experience in skin tolerance or cosmetic safety evaluation is desirable
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of toxicology principles and risk assessment methodologies
- Familiarity with literature databases and in silico tools for toxicity prediction
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for product safety submissions
- Medical writing and scientific documentation skills (preferred)
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
