Key Roles & Responsibilities
The Medical Editor II (Quality Check) will be responsible for ensuring scientific accuracy, editorial quality, and regulatory compliance of medical and clinical documents. Core responsibilities include: Work From Home Jobs Medical Editor II
- Performing scientific and editorial quality checks on medical writing deliverables
- Reviewing manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, extracts, and tables/figures for accuracy and consistency
- Conducting data integrity reviews to ensure alignment across text, tables, graphs, and figures
- Verifying that all scientific statements are accurately supported by cited references
- Ensuring correct interpretation of data from source literature and clinical study outputs
- Checking alignment with approved product labels and maintaining unbiased data presentation
- Ensuring correct one-to-one matching between in-text citations and reference lists
- Reviewing formatting, structure, and layout compliance with internal style guides and external journal or congress requirements
- Applying AMA style guidelines or client-specific editorial standards during copyediting
- Cross-checking bibliographies, citations, legends, and footnotes for completeness and accuracy
- Supporting compliance with FDA, EMA, ICH, ISO, and other applicable global regulatory standards
- Participating in internal and client meetings to address comments and resolve review queries
- Monitoring timelines and alerting project stakeholders if delivery risks arise
- Coordinating closely with Lead Medical Writers, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams
- Managing assigned editorial tasks according to SOPs, quality standards, and agreed timelines
- Providing constructive feedback to medical writers to improve document quality
- Assisting in final compilation and publishing of medical writing deliverables when required
Eligibility Criteria
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Clinical Sciences, English, Journalism, or related discipline
- Candidates with relevant medical editing, copyediting, or publishing experience will also be considered
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Editor or in medical content quality control
- Hands-on experience in data and content QC review is mandatory
- Experience working with scientific publications, clinical documents, or medical affairs materials is preferred
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of medical editing and scientific QC processes
- Excellent understanding of reference checking and data verification
- Familiarity with AMA style guide and structured medical writing standards
- High attention to detail with strong proofreading and copyediting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of regulatory guidelines such as FDA, EU, ICH, and ISO (preferred)
