Key Roles & Responsibilities
The Director β Medical Affairs (Evidence Generation) will be accountable for building and leading end-to-end evidence generation operations while ensuring strategic alignment with US Medical Affairs objectives. Key responsibilities include: Director Medical Affairs Jobs
- Leading the USMA Evidence Generation function at the Hyderabad site and establishing scalable operational capabilities
- Overseeing Real-World Evidence (RWE) analytics, economic modeling, biostatistics, clinical study operations, and data management teams
- Managing execution of clinical evidence generation activities, including Investigator Initiated Trials (IITs), Research Collaborations (RCs), and Non-Interventional Studies (NIS)
- Ensuring timely, high-quality, and compliant delivery of evidence generation outputs aligned with US Medical Affairs priorities
- Developing robust governance frameworks, operating models, and performance management systems
- Acting as the primary interface between Hyderabad-based EG teams and US Medical Affairs leadership
- Defining and tracking operational KPIs to support overall USMA success
- Identifying delivery risks early and implementing effective mitigation strategies
- Driving hiring, onboarding, training, and long-term capability development for the Evidence Generation function
- Managing performance, including coaching, corrective actions, and workforce decisions in line with company policy and local regulations
- Building a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative team culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement
- Supporting cross-site alignment across global NOCC locations and harmonizing ways of working
- Representing Hyderabad Evidence Generation operations in senior leadership forums
- Preparing and presenting executive-level dashboards, reports, and strategic updates to local and US leadership
- Managing a growing team of approximately 10β45 direct reports, with future expansion based on business needs
- Ensuring compliance with global regulatory, quality, and ethical standards governing evidence generation
Eligibility Criteria
Education
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Health Economics, Statistics, Public Health, or related fields
- Acceptable qualifications include PhD, PharmD, MSc, MPH, or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 8β10 years of experience in multinational pharmaceutical companies or CRO environments
- Proven leadership experience in evidence generation, clinical study operations, or medical affairs
- Hands-on exposure to RWE analytics, data science, economic modeling, and biostatistics
- Experience managing global, matrixed, and cross-functional teams
Skills Required
- Deep understanding of evidence generation governance, compliance, and quality standards
- Strong business acumen, including budget oversight, resource planning, and operational decision-making
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders across geographies
- Expertise in managing complex programs and delivering strategic outcomes
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and people development capabilities
- Strong communication, analytical, and executive presentation skills
- Experience working with US stakeholders and understanding US healthcare landscape
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 30% and align with US business hours
