Key Roles & Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be involved in various research and process development activities, including:
- Conduct detailed literature reviews to identify suitable synthetic pathways for target molecules
- Develop and optimize processes for APIs, intermediates, and raw materials (RSMs)
- Perform laboratory experiments across different stages such as feasibility, optimization, and validation
- Design and execute Design of Experiments (DoE) to support process optimization and technology transfer
- Analyze experimental data and recommend improvements in yield, quality, and cost efficiency
- Support scale-up activities and technology transfer to manufacturing plants
- Collaborate with MS&T (Manufacturing Science & Technology) and production teams to resolve scale-up challenges
- Investigate process-related issues and implement effective solutions
- Propose and contribute to innovation-driven projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify, synthesize, and characterize process-related impurities
- Ensure proper documentation practices and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Follow cGMP and safety procedures in laboratory operations
- Manage laboratory inventory, equipment, and resources efficiently
- Prepare technical reports, protocols, and documentation for process transfer
- Support installation and qualification of laboratory equipment
- Maintain lab safety standards and compliance at all times
- Provide guidance and support to team members when required
Eligibility Criteria
Education
- Ph.D. in Chemistry (Organic / Analytical / Pharmaceutical Chemistry preferred)
- Strong academic background in organic synthesis and analytical techniques
Experience
- Relevant experience in API process development or pharmaceutical R&D
- Experience in handling complex chemical reactions and purification processes
- Exposure to technology transfer and scale-up activities is desirable
